All-on-4® Implants

If you’re missing an entire arch of teeth, and you’re sick of bothersome, removable dentures, then All-on-4® implants might be right for you.

If you’re missing an entire arch of teeth, and you’re sick of bothersome, removable dentures, then All-on-4® implants might be right for you. Using the All-on-4 approach to dental implants, our dentists in Dallas, TX, can strategically place just four titanium screws into the jawbone to keep a complete arch of dentures securely in the mouth.

Dr. Shaun Sigurdson and Dr. Mihir Patel combine their years of experience with precision technology to help patients restore their smiles with dental implants at Lakewood Dental Group. With All-on-4 implants, our team can further improve the accuracy and success of dental implant surgery, which helps patients complete their smiles better, faster, and more comfortably.

What are All-on-4 dental implants?

As the name implies, the All-on-4 dental implant procedure allows Dr. Sigurdson and Dr. Patel to place four implants into the strongest and densest parts of the upper or lower jawbone. Additionally, Dr. Sigurdson and Dr. Patel position All-on-4 implants at a slight angle, which further increases their stability and effectiveness.

The result is four, sturdy titanium posts on the upper or lower jaw (or both!) that can keep a full arch of dentures firmly in place. This means that our patients can eat, speak, and smile without ever having to worry about the mishaps associated with removable dentures.

Why choose All-on-4 implants over conventional implants?

The primary reasons to choose All-on-4 implants over conventional implants include:

    • Less time in surgery: Both All-on-4 implants and conventional implants require oral surgery to place the titanium screws. However, the conventional method of implant placement requires approximately six to eight implants per arch to hold a complete denture. By placing only four implants, the All-on-4 system significantly reduces patients’ time in oral surgery.
    • Cost-effective: Depending on insurance coverage, a single dental implant can cost patients approximately $3,000. So, the fewer implants that our team needs to place, the less money patients will have to spend overall.
  • Faster recovery: While Dr. Sigurdson and Dr. Patel have refined dental implant surgery with a fully-guided system, the procedure still places a fair amount of stress on the oral cavity. But, the All-on-4 procedure limits the amount of stress placed on the oral cavity by limiting the number of implants required. This means that patients experience less postoperative pain, and they tend to recover much better and faster than patients undergoing conventional dental implant surgery.
  • Increased patient candidacy: For conventional dental implants, patients must have sufficient jawbone density before Dr. Sigurdson and Dr. Patel can place the titanium screws in the jaw. If patients don’t have sufficient jawbone density, then they may not be ideal candidates for conventional implants. All-on-4 implants, however, allow our team to locate areas of healthy and strong bone tissue, which gives our team more freedom to place implants strategically. Furthermore, it reduces the need for patients to undergo preparatory procedures, like bone grafting.
